FAQ

Questions owners and brokers ask

Which ports does WeSea cover?
WeSea covers the Port of Pecém and the Port of Fortaleza, commonly known as Mucuripe, in Ceará, northeast Brazil. The ports are approximately 60 km apart and have different operating profiles. Operational coverage is available around the clock at both ports.
Which cargoes does WeSea handle?
Our heavy bulk scope includes coal, fuel and petroleum products, tar and coal-tar derivatives, and steel products such as slabs, coils and plate. Cargo requirements are coordinated according to the vessel, berth, terminal and operation involved.
Does WeSea operate as a general agency?
No. WeSea is positioned as a specialist ship agency for heavy bulk operations. The current service scope is port agency, protective agency and husbandry connected to the vessel calls and cargoes described on this website.
How fast does WeSea respond to a nomination?
The operational email is monitored 24 hours a day. We do not publish a fixed response deadline because the information required and complexity of each call can vary. Send the vessel particulars, cargo, ETA, terminal and required scope so the team can prepare the initial assessment.
In which currency is the proforma DA issued?
The proforma DA is issued in USD. Exchange arrangements vary by operation, and advance requirements vary by client. The applicable terms are communicated directly for each call.
Which items can appear in the proforma DA?
Depending on the call, the proforma can include port and terminal charges, pilotage, towage, agency fee and husbandry. The exact items are determined by the services and conditions applicable to the nominated vessel.
Does WeSea advance port costs with its own capital?
The website does not make a general commitment to advance port costs. Funding and advance conditions vary by client and operation and are agreed directly during the nomination and proforma process.
Is WeSea registered in Brazil?
Yes. WeSea Agência Marítima Ltda is registered under CNPJ 68.937.643/0001-08 and holds RADAR/Siscomex authorization for customs and foreign-trade processing.
Can WeSea act as protective agent?
Yes. An owner may appoint WeSea to follow the vessel call independently when another party appoints the port agent. The protective scope is agreed according to the owner's interests and the requirements of the call.
Does WeSea provide husbandry services?
Yes. Services include crew changes, immigration coordination, medical assistance, spares and stores delivery, cash to master, bunkering coordination and survey support at Pecém and Mucuripe.
Who handles the vessel call?
WeSea uses its own operational team. One point of contact follows the call from nomination to sailing, and the person receiving the nomination has autonomy to coordinate the response. Physical attendance at the port is organized according to the needs of the call.
When do operational updates begin?
Daily updates begin from ETA-72h. Relevant deviations are communicated together with the proposed operational response.
